Our End-to-End Aluminum Chassis Fabrication Process

We follow a structured workflow to ensure your chassis is delivered right the first time.

01/

Design & Engineering Review

You provide 2D/3D drawings, sketches, or samples.

Our engineers analyze material selection, bend radii, weld accessibility, and overall manufacturability.

We offer suggestions to optimize design for cost and performance.

02/

Material Sourcing & Verification
Aluminum stock is sourced from certified mills.
Inhouse spectrometer verifies alloy composition before production.

03/

Cutting & Blanking
Sheets are cut using fiber laser or CNC punch for precise blanks with clean edges.
Waterjet cutting available for very thick sections.

04/

Forming & Bending

CNC press brakes with automatic angle compensation ensure consistent bends across all parts.

Complex shapes are achieved through progressive dies or custom fixtures.

05/

CNC Machining

Critical features are machined on 3-/5-axis CNC centers for high accuracy.

Mating surfaces, mounting holes, and threads are created.

06/

Welding & Assembly

Skilled TIG welders join components using optimized parameters to minimize distortion.

Robotic welding for high-volume parts ensures repeatability.

Welds are inspected visually and, if required, by NDT methods.

07/

Post-Weld Treatment

Stress relief (if needed) to maintain dimensional stability.

Deburring, grinding, and sanding for smooth edges and surfaces.

08/

Surface Finishing
Mechanical finishing (brushing, polishing) or chemical treatment (Alodine) to prepare for anodizing/painting.
Anodizing (clear or colored), powder coating, or painting as specified.
Silk screening or laser marking for logos, labels, or instructions.

09/

Final Assembly & Quality Control

All components are assembled with any additional parts (fasteners, brackets, PCBs).

Dimensional inspection using CMM and go/no-go gauges.

Functional testing if required (e.g., fit checks, grounding continuity).

10/

Packaging & Shipping
Custom packaging (foam-lined crates, anti-static bags) to protect finished chassis.
Shipping by sea, air, or express, with door-to-door service available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What aluminum alloys do you recommend for chassis fabrication?

A: The best alloy depends on your application. 6061-T6 is the most versatile for machining and welding; 5052-H32 is excellent for bending and forming; 7075-T6 offers high strength but is less weldable. We can help you select the right alloy.

Q: Can you prototype a single aluminum chassis before mass production?

A: Absolutely. We specialize in rapid prototyping (5-10 business days) to validate design, fit, and function. Once approved, we seamlessly transition to volume production.

Q: What surface finishes do you offer?

A: We provide mill finish, brushed, polished, Alodine (chem film), clear or colored anodizing (Type II, Type III hard coat), powder coating, and painting. Custom colors and textures available.

Q: What file formats do you accept for drawings?

A: We accept DXF, DWG, STEP, IGES, STP, and PDF. For complex assemblies, STEP or IGES is preferred.

Q: Do you offer assembly of electronic components into the chassis?

A: Yes, we can integrate PCBs, connectors, wiring, and other components to deliver a fully assembled unit ready for final use.
